This the very first Rupert annual without I’m afraid the dust jacket if I had the dust jacket you would treble the price if not more. This copy of the original 1936 annual in VERY GOOD- condition with no fraying to the cloth covered boards and only minor bumping to the corners and spine, the spine is both sound, intact and with only minor bumping to the top and bottom. Some fading and a few stain marks but never the less a very nice looking annual. Internally there is a name in the “belongs to box” in crayon and the first page has just started to give on the binding but is sound. The first six pages have had a tear about 5cm long from the top edge that has been repaired with paper glue very successfully and the repair is sound. The painting pictures on pages 37/38, 67/68 and 124 have been completed to a very good standard but there is a small smudge on page 39, two small pictures on pages 14/15 have had the grass area coloured in. this is a well read and cherished annual that is a joy to behold including how I have described it. The one annual all we collectors want.
1937 Stock No. RBA 2009/81 £420.00
What an absolute gem of an annual this is, in FINE+ condition a magnificent copy of this very rare annual with only very minor shelf wear to the edges and corners, the spine is in great condition with only the most minor of bumping to the bottom and finger wear to a small area, about 5cm, causing the fabric to be a little lighter in colour. Inside there is a name in the belongs to box in pencil and ink, no inscription, there is only the lightest hint of some foxing to the first and last pages and some very slight pulling between pages 31 and 32. There is no sign of any pencil, crayon or painting to any of the crisp and bright and stiff internal pages. A truly rare annual in fabulous condition and a star for any collection.

There is foxing to the first 4 and last 2 pages and foxing to the page edges, the “belongs to “ box was filled in but has been erased and there is an inscription “from mummy 1940 “ inside the rear cover.
