The last of the hard cover annuals with paper
Covered boards, all so very delicate, this annual is in GOOD+ condition with rubbing and wear to the corners and edges but still straight and square, there is some wear to the tail of the spine with some very minor flaking of the paper cover, there is loss of the paper cover to the top of the spine approximately 7.5cm long that has exposed the spine webbing. Inside there is an inscription “xmas 1941” and a name in the belongs to box all written in blue crayon. The pages are sound to the spine, firm and full of vibrant colour with only the lightest of foxing to the page edges, there are no marks or looseness to the pages. A sound and wonderful copy of this so very rare annual an absolute must for any collection.

A really nice copy in GOOD+ condition. The soft covers are nice and bright with only very slight foxing, the corners are square with some wear the front cover is approximately 3mm short in width, perhaps a manufacturing problem and the bottom right of the front cover has a 3cm score that hasn’t gone all the way through the spine has been reinforced with book tape and can only be seen on close inspection. There is a name in the “belongs”to , the annual is not price clipped and the picture ompetitions on pages 2 and 119 have been part completed in crayon hence some transfer, some oxing to page edges. A really nice early annual to grace any collection.

So very hard to find and this copy in VERY GOOD condition with the soft covers showing only minor wear to the edges, there is a repaired tear about 5cm to the top of the rear cover but hardly visible on the outside. The top and tail of the spine showing again wear but not lifting or missing, the colours still bright and vibrant but a little dirty on the back and front edge. Internally there is an inscription “With love from Aunty Edie Uncle Bill” not price clipped, some foxing and finger smudges to the page edges and light intermitant foxing but the colours WOW so vibrant and bright and the pages stiff and sound to binding. A great addition to any collection with the added bonus of the original brown paper dust jacket made by the owner Tony Morgan.

What a find, in FINE condition with only the merest sign of wear to the corners and to the top and tail of the spine the covers still stiff to touch and with only a light crease to the bottom right of the front cover. Internally there is an insricption “Tony Morgan 25 Harcourt Street from Aunty Edie Uncle Bill with love 1946” is not price clipped the odd finger smudge but the pages stiff to touch and sound to binding and bursting with colour, and, with the added bonus of the original brown paper dust jacket made by the owner. A unique addition to any collection.

An excellent copy of this soft cover annual would be hard to find classified as VERY GOOD. The covers are bright and square with virtually no wear to the spine, the corners are square, although the bottom right corner has at some time been folded back causing a slight crease. Internally there is an inscription and name in the “belongs to” box and is not price clipped. The competitions on pages 2 and 119 are untouched as are all of the lovely tight bound pages , again an unread beauty.

A copy of this rare annual in FINE condition with only a hint of wear to the corners and to the top and tail of the spine, the edges slightly grubby but he covers stiff to touch and the colours still strong and vibrant after 63 years. Inside there is an inscription “Tony Morgan 25 Harcourt street 1947” in a neat but childs hand, not price clipped, the odd finger smudge but this annual hardly read as the pages are so stiff and sound to the unstretched binding and the colours just jumping out at you so strong and vibrant. With the original brown paper dust jacket made by the owner a unique addition for any collector.

A great annual in GOOD condition due to wear to the corners and to the top and tail of the spine due to all the handling and love that this annual evidently has had over the years, the odd nick and creasing and lifting to about 2cm of the top and tail of the spine. Internally there is an inscription “1948 B Robert Masden A present from Lois x” price is intact although this is evidently a well read and cherished annual with the attendant finger smudges, fold downs and the odd nick the pages are still stiff, sound to the binding and the colours so strong bold this is a really nice copy for any collector to continue cherishing.

In just great condition and rated as FINE+ the covers are clean, bright with well defined corners and spine with only about 1cm of wear to the top and tail of the spine with a staple stain just showing through, and inside there is an inscription “Sylvia Roberts Bucknall 1948” and not price clipped, the pages so clean, bright stiff and sound to the binding , the colours just jumping out at you, fabulous and a must for any collector.

A great copy in FINE condition so hard to find with barely a hint of wear to the corners and to the top and tail of the well defined spine. The last of the soft cover war economy production in VERY GOOD condition, very slight wear to the edges of the spine with some light foxing also. The internals are tight and firm with sound bindings. There is printed, with it looks like an old style children’s Bulldog printing stamp, a name in the “belongs to box” it is not price clipped. The pages are tight, bright and sound. The only detraction could be that the owner has very carefully followed the outline of the characters in biro on pages 2 and 119 the puzzle pages, it’s quite charming really. A good copy for any collector.
