1938 Rupert Bear Annual

A wonderfully bright and colourful copy in FINE condition. The rigid paper covered board covers are just wonderful, bright and clean and unmarked, the brilliant red spine is full, unmarked with just a hint of bumping to the top and tail. The corners although reasonable square do have some wear through to the board. Inside there is a very neat inscription in the belongs to box “B D CHEAL 30 Graham RD WORTHING” but WOW, the pages are so gleaming white, just a little stretching between pages 16 and 17. The inside pages of this annual are so clean, bright, stiff and bursting with colour, and the colour to the covers so bright it must have been kept in a dark cupboard or draw for the last 73 years. Amazing and one for all collectors.

1940 Rupert Bear Annual

Amazing to find this so very rare annual in any condition ,but this copy in FINE condition is a joy. The paper covered rigid boards so clean and bright, the corners with just a hint of bump except the top right hand corner which also has some wear through to the board, the spine full and complete, the front edge of the paper cover to the spine just separated so please look at the photo’s. Internally there is a name in the belongs to box “BRIAN DAVID CHEAL” and in the top left hand corner of the inside of the front cover an address “30 GRAHAM. RD WORTHING”.
Only the first and last pages have some browning, see photo’s, but almost certainly due to being closed for the last 71 years. All of the rest of the pages are bright and clean and bursting with colour, the pages so stiff and firm to the touch and sound to the binding. This is truly a rare find and a joy to hold and look through. This is a treasure for any collector.

1941 Rupert Bear Annual

Oh my oh my! This so very rare and hard to find annual in FINE  nearly FINE+ condition, except for the following, a tiny point of wear to the bottom corners of the front and rear cover but still very square, a hint of bump to the top corners of the front and rear covers, very minor bump to the top and tail of the spine, there is a fold to page 49 / 50 and tiny 1cm tear, a fold to page 101 /102. There is an inscription in the belongs to box in a neat adult hand “Brian Cheal with love from Nan Xmas 1941” and an address in the top left hand corner “30 GRAHAM RD WORTHING” . Other than that this annual is just beautiful, the colours to the rigid paper covered boards so bright and crisp, and the covers clean, the spine full and well defined. Every page a joy, so gleaming white and clean, the pages crisp and firm and stiff to the touch, the binding firm and sound, a slight hint of a stretch between pages 64 and 65. I really couldn’t say when I will find another as good as this, and as far as I have searched, there is not another on the market as good as this. A star of an annual to shine in any collection.
